Houston Art Car Parade 2011

The annual 2011 Houston Art Car Parade took place on Sunday, May 22. I am most intrigued by the cars that use unusual materials to decorate the car. But I also appreciate the sculptural nature of some of the creations.

My favorites for use of material include the “peep” car, the tennis ball car, the crochet car and the car covered with brick. My favorite theme cars were the dog car (of course), the Pee Wee car, and the sock monkey.

What a lot of work for the creators and what a lot of fun for the spectators. Bravo!
