Unique Sign at Houston Baptist University

I love dogs. Everyone who knows me well also knows that I come from a family of dog-crazy people.

I’ve always liked the design of the husky mascot at Houston Baptist University. The symmetry, the deep blue color, and the use of positive and negative space make for an attractive logo. And the piercing gaze of the husky catches my attention. The logo has been translated into a striking metal sign that sits outside the baseball field, across from the residence halls. The sign is constructed of three metal panels that have perforations, so there is some transparency to the structure. The sign is surrounded by a flower bed that is green in winter and also in the dog days of a Houston summer!
