Cows and “Branding”
Once a month, I volunteer to sell Chick-fil-a at my son’s high school. The kids are crazy about the food! And, the PTO makes a small profit from the sale of sandwiches, wraps, and salads. Chick-fil-a does a great job in giving back to the community by sponsoring fundraisers of this kind.
I’ve always been impressed by the service I’ve received at Chick-fil-a. When the employees say, “It’s my pleasure,” you feel they really mean it. And so I was interested to find this article at The Dogg Blogg, a site that discusses design and branding.
They author discusses the many ways that the Chick-fil-a brand creates a memorable experience for the customer.
The effectiveness of their logo—you know they sell chicken.
The staff—always in uniform and extremely polite and pleasant.
The menu—they focus on chicken.
The dining area—very clean and well maintained.
The marketing—cows encouraging you to eat chicken…memorable
It seems simple, but it works. A great product, served by people who care, in a clean, fun environment. Hmmm…I think I’m getting hungry…
